The usual Sort by column click - reversible by Ctrl_click - applies to the Date[+Time], fileName, Time[+Date], Size[+Name] and Path; to sort by fileType press the Alt key and click the column; all the file names will be right aligned into the column; you can stroke the Shift key to reverse the Case sensitive default setting. Have you ever met the need to sort the reversed file names, i.e. compare the file names reading the characters from their end? (this should not be mismatched with to reverse the ascending/descending order, that applies to this case also). To obtain that, Alt_click the column; with this option too all the file names will be right aligned into the 2nd column to aid in reading (in this version the extensions are included, to get together all files of the same type); ![]() To sort by the fileName.ext length, Alt_click the Size () column. Besides, since any number of files in a List View can be highlighted (e.g. for Edit) and / or checked (e.g. for direct Command line processing), you can sort those files getting them separated by the others to the beginning (Ascending) or the end of the list (Descending): Alt_click the column, i.e. where files are checked. Every repeated click on the same mode and column will revert the order direction. |
